Buy out a rented website

Rental is a subscription: the site stays live, the code stays with SolidWeb. Buyout is a one-time payment after which you take the project. The formula is written into the contract before we start.

Typical formula: the price of an equivalent custom build minus months already paid. We do not go negative: if rent exceeds that build price, buyout is negotiated. Cancel without buyout and we take the site down.

Example (not an offer)

A custom landing starts at $299. If you rented 10 months at $8, buyout often looks like “$299 minus $80”, with the remainder in the contract. Custom builds (not the $5–8 template) use a different formula.

Not included automatically

Payment gateways, order queues, unique features. Those are separate line items — not bought out on the template-landing formula.

FAQ

Yes: that is a custom build or a fixed buyout with no rental period. See the development page.

A domain registered to you stays yours. We only point DNS at hosting while you rent.
